J O N A T H A N   J   P R I N Z

Jonathan J Prinz began his professional life as a rabbi serving, along with his father, Newark New Jersey's Temple B'nai Abraham, the country‚Äôs largest independent synagogue.  The congregation is now in nearby Livingston.  During his time in the rabbinate, he was active in civil rights and was among the founders of the The United Community Corporation, the first Community Action Anti-Poverty program funded by the Equal Opportunity Act.


After leaving the active rabbinate, and a brief period in politics, he spent nearly a decade on Wall Street where he was the communications officer  of a growing firm led by the legendary Sanford I Weill.  He then embarked upon a three decade career in Corporate and Brand Identity.  He was a principal and the president of The Schechter Group.  Much of his work there focused on consumers helping blue chip global clients build brand identities for their flagship and other products.  He and his partners sold the firm to The Omnicom Group and he remained its president for some years thereafter.  He established his own consultancy in 1995.


Beyond continueing with his consulting, his time is primarily devoted to writing including his blog: Beyond All That focusing on current affairs, religion and politics.  He is also written a book, Transcenders: Living beyond religion and the religion wars.


After many years in New York City, he now lives and works in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  He has two grown sons.
